Shooting Scare...

I was at KLIA in line to check in for my flight to Singapore...

and all of sudden...

"Bang"..."Bang Bang"..."Bang"...

Everybody was running all around without any direction ...

and only at this time I know what happened...

Some fella opened random shots in the airport...

a total of 5 shots...

I was so afraid that my flight will be cancelled...

or worst still...

some terrorist hijack the plane and crash it to God knows where...

As typical kepoh-chi Malaysian...

I went to sibuk-sibuk around...

and was so close to the scene...

I wish I had my DSLR with me :(

so that can pretend to be CSI :P

The suspect ... still alive

Glass Shattered

Another Shot...

Another Shot...

This is not peanut ok...its bullet casing !

Memories Re-visited...

It has been sooooo long since I last stepped into Cinema.

It has been sooooo long since I had my midnight show.

When I was having teh tarik session with my friends,

Out of sudden KH said, let's go watch movie.

We were like...why so semangat?!?!

Basically as bachelors we have nothing better to do...

so KH offered to settle the drinks money and off we go...

It has been sooooo long since I last went to KLCC...

Had to rely on CS to tell me where to park...

and when I first stepped into the cinema hall...

I can only remember the memories I had with my beloved...

I really miss those moments...

Popcorns...Jagung Manis...

and it's weird to have 3 guys watching movie with me...

not girls... :P

Simple & Easy

The LOVE feeling is something very special to come by, it’s not about a person’s beauty…

It’s about the special feeling God gave to you.

It’s easy and simple to like a person…

But…

It’s not easy to find somebody that you truly love…

It’s not easy to find somebody that loves you as much as you do…

It’s not easy to find somebody that can understand you and accept who you are…

& it is not easy…

It’s not easy at all to find the true love of your life…

Would you rather stay single? Or you will marry someone who likes you but at the other end you don’t have the ‘LOVE’ feeling?

It’s rather confusing…but at the end of the day, you still need to make a decision out of it.

It's easy to think, but it's not easy to work it out...

Force of Nature ...

Due to the force of nature...

I am doing something which is out of my 'control'...

I have no idea what am I doing...

nor why am I forcing myself doing something I don't like...

It's just not me...

It's just so fake...

Maybe it's a revenge...

But there's no compatibility at all...

Which I hate the most...

Saya ANTI Rasuah...Yeah Rite !!!

It has been a while since I was stopped by a police officer and handed over a ticket for anykind of traffic offence (not those online or registered post samans).

This time there was no way to hide, but the thing is I was kinda pissed that he stopped me over an offence committed along MRR2 on the way back home.

No....not for speeding, but for talking on the mobile phone in less than 10 sec. The conversation was..."Hey, I am driving...call you later"

Yes, I committed an offence under the Malaysia Law, but personally... I still think these highway robbers should have done a better job by clearing the traffic jam during rush hours, manning the traffic rather than go rounding for some fast money.

So when I was caught, he politely greeted me "Selamat petang Encik, tadi cakap handphone ya...salah tu. Tolong tunjuk lesen..." After a few moments of 'interview session' as expected he asked..."So, boleh bayar saman tak? RM300 saman...mahal tu"

Indirectly everyone in Malaysia knows exactly what they are asking for... As I was determined not to give in, I answered without any hesitation and said "Pakcik, you saman saja lah...cepat sikit, I kenal orang dalam balai... I nak pi hospital bedah orang ni"

Obviously I was handed a ticket for my bruised ego. Needless to say I am hurting now knowing that I am going to pay for these unnecessary expenses. Talking about bruised ego! Damn it !!! Should have paid him RM50 instead of RM100 that I have to pay through my agent now...

Year of Earth Rat 2008 - Good or Bad ???

I received my Chinese Forecast for the coming Chinese New Year from my colleague.

Career

The year of the Earth Rat sees the reaping of many rewards for the hardworking Rooster! There is a potential of an increase in salary, recognition and more responsibilities. Therefore if you are able and ready to give your all come career, you will be instrumental in your company advancement this year and will be duly rewarded. The Rooster is blessed to such as extent that you will attract those of power to question your validity, but not to worry - you will only come out smelling of roses from such incidents! Self-employed Roosters will find those below you become very astute to your wants and work progress is smooth running. It's your job to capitalize on this as much as you can and take some time to carefully delegate tasks.

Wealth

You will be able to overachieve your dreams this year, Rooster, but it all depends on you. If you are ready to take on more than usual and work extra-hard, you can definitely make it big this year! This is because your stars will provide all the opportunities you need, as well as individuals who will be all too happy to help you - the next step to make it really happen, then, lies on you, Rooster. Rooster people who have their own businesses should expand or branch out this year.

Relationship

Singleton Roosters will have a good time this year, with excellent Love luck on your side. You will have opportunities in meeting lots of people you will like, but in order for a relationship to happen the Rooster will need to make the first move! Married or attached Rooster people will enjoy a renewal of passion that will put an extra spring into your step, therefore make use of this lovey-dovey year to enjoy holidays that makes unforgettable memories.

Health

The Rooster will be healthy and strong this year. But, your family members may get sick this year, especially those who are in senior years. Take them to full medical checkups this year to be on the safe side. Aside from this, the drinking Rooster should cut down the alcohol intake since there is a potential for liver problems this 2008.

Basically it is a very good year for me, but it doesn't seem so to me at the moment as I really have no idea why my life is currently so miserable. I don't know why of all the people I am the chosen one. I am nobody, I am just a normal person who doesn't deserve all these kind of 'business-related' pressure.

Yes, I got a very good increment in my salary and I have a promising career in my current company. But the old man's craps are really killing me softly...Sometimes I just wish whenever I am flying, the plane just crash down and I am a dead person :(

Lingam Philosophy

Lingam by far is the most famous people in our country now. Lots of idea can learn from him every days - A very dumb lawyer who doesn't know how to lie and still wanna cover for it.
  • "It look like me, talk like me but might not me"
  • "Many people bear the same name"
  • "I was drunk...I was bragging...."
Try that with your boss and see what happens...my boss will smack my head for saying that and perhaps I will lose my job too...

Nikon D40x Review

The D40/D40X are the most compact Nikon digital SLRs to date. They are proof that you can build a compact digital SLR without compromising comfort or ergonomics (well at least if your lens mount isn't too large).

This camera is light, quick, relatively cheap, and takes great pics. It's just easier to pick up and lug around. What else could anyone (except pros) want? No, I haven't owned a D80 or better but it's the best camera I've ever owned by far. Of course more professional photographers will recommend a D80 or D300. Well...most people DO NOT need those cameras. With this camera, another good lens and speedlite, and you're pretty much set. The battery life is amazing and seems endless.

Help is available throughout the camera interface, either in shooting mode, setting adjustment or menus, simply press and hold the help '?' button. Note that in shooting mode the '?' icon may occasionally blink, this essentially means that the camera has some advice for you - great for newbie.

During playback you can display a pop-up version of the Retouch menu by pressing the OK button, this is a faster method of applying any of the retouch adjustments to the current image and it is one of the reason why I love this camera so much, faster editing and save my time.

I also experienced dust on sensor without removing lens, which I have no idea how it went in...but have tough time cleaning it as the camera doesn't come with Integrated Cleaning System like Canon EOS. Personally, I feel that the 3pt focusing is not enough for me and would definitely prefer more points like Canon's 9pt focusing... Yes, nothing is perfect in this world and I am pretty pleased with what I have at the moment.

In conclusion, great camera at a great price and highly recommended to DSLR newbie. Will stick to this camera for sometime unless there's a new camera with improved functions which is affordable to me otherwise I don't see a reason to change it.

Story of AirAsia

AirAsia is a globally known brand that has made Malaysian proud. But I still don't fancy taking AirAsia on my trip simply because no loyalty card, no free meal on board, no newspaper for me to read during the journey, have to walk under the sun or rain to the plane, and most important of all...my company can afford to pay my trip on Malaysia Airlines.

Dato Tony Fernandes, the person responsible behind the AirAsia brand. He bought a bankrupt airline that no one wanted and turned it into one of the most succesful low cost carriers in the world.
  • 38 Airbus compared to 14 of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), in the running to become the largest Airbus user in the world.

  • Can afford to become the official low cost airline of Manchester United. (MAS no where to be seen)

  • Much much more profit than MAS
If AirAsia provides a premium service just like what MAS provides but maintain the current low cost strategy, I am pretty sure it will overtake MAS soon and I will, jump ship at that time :)

Shangri-la Hotel, Bandaran Kota Kinabalu

When you tell the taxi driver that you wanna go Shangri-la Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, please be specific. There are 2 Shangri-las in KK. Shangri-la Tanjung Aru is the 'original' Shangri-la Hotel chain which is located near the sea side while Shangri-la Hotel Bandaran is located at the heart of Kota Kinabalu town.

As one of the Sabah’s first full service hotels, Hotel Shangri-la is renowned locally for its cosiness, comfort and convenience 3 star city hotel with 121 rooms. The latest upgrading work was completed March 2006. The rooms and corridors have been given a fresh look and so too the Lobby and the Bar. Behind the hotel, there’s a route to the hilltop where u can take a panoramic view of KK city and the nearby islands which is the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.

It is a good solid hotel within easy walking distance of the main town, night markets and the recently developed waterfront region. The hotel itself is what you would expect from a mid-range hotel but importantly it was quiet, very clean and the breakfast was good. If there was a down side then it would probably be that the hotel is set back from a busy main road and bus stop. Although the noise can't be heard in the hotel it was a little precarious crossing the main road.

Guest on business trip can access internet with their free wifi in the room. I have no problem with the connection at all.

The nicely packed amenities kit

Verdict? definitely one of my favourite hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Nuffnang or Advertlets ???

I am officially “exclusive Nuffnang blogger” and got ‘accepted’ into the exclusive Nuffnang Glitterati club.

Sounds grand huh?

Put it this way, some might think it’s nothing…but for the others, it’s an offer that is hard to resist.

So what makes me an ‘exclusive Nuffnang blogger’ then?

Well, my blog has NO advertisement from any other ad network that originates from South East Asia and this qualifies me to become one of their so called ‘exclusive member’. In order to do so, I'd have to let go my Advertlets account and frankly speaking, I found Nuffnang pays better than Advertlets.

I tried to be loyal to advertlets as well, but sorry … it’s kinda hard to let go this kinda offer :)

The Amazing Race

I am creating my own version of amazing race...

Flying non stop for the past 4 weeks...

From one place to another...

Performing my own version of detour and road block...

and one thing for sure...

I am always the first to arrive the pit stop...

cos there ain't any participants in my version of amazing race...

Feeling bored and lonely at times...

I wish Digiman can accompany me all the time...

cos he will follow me whenever I go...

But too bad...

I am not a Digi user...

so I won't have the luxury of Digiman following me whenever I go.

The MAS Challenge

I was on the same plane with my buddy - ChinWah to Sibu.

During the flight, we saw stewardess giving out mock plane model to the kids.

I always wanted one, but to buy one is so expensive.

So, I challenged ChinWah to request for one since he is sitting on the aisle.

and he was smart enough to lie to the stewardess, claiming that he would like to give it to his child when in fact he is not married yet.

The stewardess was hesitate to give, but gave it to him eventually.

I don't care how he managed to get it, be it lie or steal... :)

because...finally I got one ! :)

and it doesn't come cheap...

coz I gotta spend him beers :(

Lumbar Disc Injury

Can't sleep...

Can't sit properly...

Can't walk properly...

That's how I felt when I injured my L-5 Lumbar Disc while I was working.

I had no idea how it happened.

It just happend so quickly and I only know I heard a crack sound instead of pain at that moment.

I couldn't imagine myself on a wheelchair...

I couldn't imagine myself paralyze...

I rather die than being in that situation...

Seriously, I don't have the courage to continue living at that kind of state.

Now I know how the disabled people felt...

The difficulties they faced.

I had to change all my schedule...

Changed my flight back to KL to see a specialist...

When I got of from the plane, I was among the first to get out...

But with the pain that I was suffering, I was walking like 1km/hr...

Even the wheel-chaired auntie reached the baggage area faster than me.

Injury to the spine and lumbar area is no play-play.

Luckily the injury was not that serious as what I thought.

Had my whole body 'adjusted' by the chiropractor and I felt so much better after 3 days of suffer.

Thank God...I got my normal life back

Amazing Thailand

Massage

Bangkok is internationally famous for its massage parlors. Traditional Thai massage can be found all over town, in hotels, at spas and stand-alone salons. Thai massage is recognized for its health benefits and relaxing effects, both on the body and on the mind. Thai massage, foot massage and oil massage are the most popular courses. A one hour Thai massage can cost as little as Bt 129 excluding tips.

Bangkok has a lot to offer after dark. Live music, bowling, ice skating, dinner shows, river cruise, Thai boxing, night shopping – a lot of things to do for all people and all budgets.

Bangkok has a reputation for wild and rowdy nightlife.
The truth is the city’s nightlife goes way beyond the over-worn naughty image from the Vietnam days. Fun would be a better description for it.
Bars and clubs catering especially to foreign guests are confined to the following hot zones – Patpong, Soi Nana, Soi Cowboy and Khaosarn Road

Patpong. The nightlife strip runs along two short lanes, Patpong 1 and 2 in Silom. Bars share street-space with restaurants, massage parlors, a couple of hotels while a night market selling clothes, fake watches and souvenirs runs down the center of Patpong 1 and out along Silom Road.

Nana. Three floors of nightlife activity around a central atrium. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 4, it is a cluster of go-go and beer bars in the three story building of Nana Entertainment Plaza. The first floor has a lot of busy and exciting bars, The second floor is occupied by smaller bars, often frequented by old hands. The third floor has a few, really big bars known for their girlie shows.

Soi Cowboy. Just a few meters from the Asoke BTS Station, Soi Cowboy is a cluster of go-go bars and beer joints, Prices here are cheaper than those in other red light zones in the capital. Beer costs 55 to 85 baht, perhaps a little less during happy hour and little more at some of the more popular spots, and the obligatory (soft) drinks for the girls cost a little more.

Tuk-Tuk

A taxi style mode of transport that;s unique to Thailand. The three wheeled, open air tuk tuk can take you almost anywhere in Bangkok. Rate is usually negotiable, from Bt20 for a very short distance to Bt300 for a father destination.

Floating Market at Damnoen Saduak

Thailand is famous for its floating markets and some of the best are found in the outskirts of Bangkok. One is Damnoen Saduak in Ratchaburi, In the narrow canals of Damnoen Saduak, women crowd the waterway network to sell goods to riverbank residents.
